3,500 Local Hospital Workers Vote to Strike

About 3,500 members of the Service Employees International Union Healthcare Minnesota voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to strike. After two days of voting, 91 percent supported the strike option.

If the union calls a 2-5 day strike it would affect:

-Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina
-Fairview Riverside Hospital in Minneapolis

2 Blaine Students Named Minnesota Scholars of Distinction

Two Anoka-Hennepin Students were named 2012 Minnesota Scholars of Distinction in Theater Arts.

Michael Schermann and Michael Voit of Blaine High School were given the award by the Minnesota Department of Education. The program awards students who excel in acting, play writing, design, technical theater, or directing.
